HVLP 2000 Pump

HVLP 2000 Pump Maintenance.

The LIQUID RUBBER INDUSTRIES pump system is a High Volume Low Pressure Pump (H.V.L.P. 2000) which consists of a 6 HP Honda Gas Motor/110 Volt Electric Motor and two Comet H.V.L.P. pumps, driven by belts and calibrated by pressure with tip sizes to give the correct ratio. The pump is capable of delivering 5 gallons per minute (G.P.M.)

As in any pump system, continual maintenance on a regular schedule is always advised; the H.V.L.P. 2000 pump system is no exception.

  • Clean the pump with mineral sprits solution every day.
  • Clean all fittings, hoses and guns regularly. This will minimize potential blockages and increase the life of the H.V.L.P. 2000 pump system. Cleaning will also maintain the visual integrity of the products.
  • Inspect hoses and fittings regularly for deterioration and clean with mineral spirits
  • Inspect diaphragms and internal pumps every three (3) months for deterioration and replace if necessary.

The cleaning process.

  • Remove the feed hose from Part A.
  • Remove the tip from Part A and put in the cleaning solution.
  • Return “wastage” materials in the pump and lines to the supply tank or a 5-gallon bucket.
  • Put the circulation lever into the UP position, and prime the pump with cleaning solution.
  • Put the circulation lever in the DOWN position and open the gate valve.
  • Check the level and the status of the oil
  • Check the water intake filter and clean if necessary

Regular maintenance.

Every 50 hours:

  • Check the accumulator inflation pressure (when present)
  • Check the water intake circuit is intact
  • Check the pump is securely fastened to the base of the unit

Every 300 hours:

  • Check the intake and delivery valves (Check LR side “A” side more frequently due to suspended abrasive particles)
  • Replace diaphragms regardless of their condition
  • Replace the oil when you change the diaphragms
